Jail Information
The Houston County Jail houses both state and local inmates. The jail houses pre-trial and sentenced inmates. The jail employs 12 correctional officers. The Houston County Jail is certified by the Tennessee Corrections Institute.
Inmates at the Jail are allowed visitation. Visiting hours are Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am through 5:00 pm.
All visitors are required to fill out an application, and the application must be approved prior to visit.
The Houston County Jail has a prepaid inmate phone system. Phone cards can be purchased at the Sheriff's Office in the lobby.
Inmates can also purchase approved commissary items. Funds may be placed in an inmates account by three methods. Please see "Inmate Commissary: under the Jail link for more information.
Inmates can only receive items from the approved commissary list. No outside items from civilians will be accepted unless approved by the Sheriff.
